12/12

Every month, Bruno Vansina, Cyrille ObermŁller, Kobe Proesmans and Teun Verbruggen take their instruments to a special and unexpected place. The challenge: playing together with the location, reflecting on its vibe, the season, the people present.

Video artist Kris Verdonck travels and films every soundtrack on location. Each month 12/12 releases this musical short film. By December 2018, this will yield a musical picture story in twelve short films.

The Vlaams Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx is an indoor cycling track in Ghent, named after Eddy Merckx, the most succesful rider in history.
The lightweight bikes for track cycling have no brakes and employ a single fixed rear gear. Riders float by like a flight of butterflies while we set up our instruments on the infield, where their coaches and entourage would stand during the races. Track cycling has various race formats, all of them requiring power, balance and steering skills. Belgiumís school for professional cycling has its offices at the Vlaams Wielercentrum and holds training sessions at the velodrome. No one mounts a bike here without thinking of Eddy Merckx. The five time winner of the Tour de France also held the world hour record in track cycling for over 12 years.
