I formed a new quartet together with my all time musical buddy Teun Verbruggen on drums, the new kid on the block Bert Cools (guitar) and groove machine Jos Machtel (bass).
From the very beginning, it was a quest for a personal sound by means of original compositions.
May 2011, we did our first studio- recording after doing a few Belgian concerts and a tour in Mexico City (Eurojazz and Zynco) and Cuernavaca. This recording was done in preparation for a cd I wanted to do in 2012. The result is the EP record 'Guacamole' (Nathan Wouters on bass) soon to be released for download.
Now, one year later, we just finished recording at System Two studios in Brooklyn, New York. For this recording the band was joined by the wonderful Steve Nelson on vibraphone. The recording was done by Mike Marciano. The cd will be released beginning of April on DE WERF in co production with RAT Records. The band played beautiful and I am so excited about it!!!!
